Rhino Modelling

Red Ribbon represents the structural element of the building. I'm planing to divide the structure in two different functions: private (right)-dance studios  and  public(left)-performance area. The building will be connected with a bridge on the upper level, this way I'll be able to keep some public space open. As well the building will be connected bellow the ground with the main dance studio and some changing area for the dancers.

After reviewing the previous model I went back to the first idea of keeping the continuity of the movement of dancers, represented by the black angular shapes. In this model I avoided the random position of the forms and tried to align it with the circular red line.

RESULT

The circular red line represents the passion and the movement in dance, where the angular figures show the different positions of the dancers. I tried to represent how the dancers, their passion and movement, creates a flow of the dance.

Program

1. Silver circles represent the steps of the dancers where connected points create a move of a dance.The extended wire is the leg of the dancer.

2. Representation of the shouting lights on the the dance floor. 

3. The circular movement shows the dance floor and continuous motion of the dancers. 

4.  This is a representation of the "twisted" skirt of the dancer. The dress becomes part of the dance creating its own development of the show.  

Emotion

1. Labyrinth of the history that I want to explore.

2. Representation of the water. Water is an important element of the site that brings a feeling of something mysterious and powerful. 

Connection

1. Body movement of the dancers. 

2. Black and red form the explosion of the passion in dance. 

3.  Red line it represents the circuit of the passion in a dark. Transparent black "cloud" is the spirit of the passion.  

Collage_Program, Impression, Connection

PROGRAM

The program of the building that I'm developing is "Ballroom Dance Center". This Collage represents the movement of the body and movement of the energy. The colorful ghosts are symbolizing the movement of the energy of the dance. Every move of the body is followed by the move of the energy. Also the circular forms through the collage represent the continuity of the movement in dance.

EMOTION

While visiting the site the first thought that comes to my mind is the historical value of the site and strong correlation with the water body. The layout of the old structures in the South Seaport gives me an impression of the labyrinth, labyrinth of the history that I want to explore and learn. 

CONNECTION

The word connection has various meanings. We can have connection with the nature, people, emotions, etc. While thinking of the program that I'm developing and focusing on the dancing I feel that dance is very strongly connected with passion. Dancing starts with passion, passion becomes dance.
